Who can see my work in Journeys?
Check Privacy on the Socra or Journey. Private work is access-controlled. Published means anyone can view it. New work can inherit its parent's privacy, so check the destination before adding sensitive material.
Access to private work
People can receive access through the Space, a parent Journey, or a direct share. Sharing a Journey gives access to work inside it. Sharing a single Socra does not grant access to the rest of its Journey.
In Privacy, Space permissions controls access inherited from the Space. Turning it off does not remove a direct share or access inherited from a parent Journey. Inspect those sources too when you need to restrict access.
The owner or a collaborator with permission to manage privacy can change these settings. Reopen Privacy after a change to confirm the saved values.
Roles
- Viewer can read and react.
- Commenter can also post updates.
- Editor can edit content, organize work, and change assignments.
- Admin can manage access and privacy.
- The owner can transfer ownership.
When Allow members to add others is enabled, collaborators can add people at their own role or a lower role. Review that setting when deciding who should control access.
Public work and unsent writing
Choosing Published makes the work publicly readable. Additional settings control whether other people can comment or add Socras. Use Private when public access is not intended, then review inherited and direct access.
Opening New Socra can create the resource before you select Send. Its privacy and access can inherit from the destination, and edits to its authored content can save before you send a conversation message. Treat the content area as saved work under the resource's access rules. Text waiting in an existing Socra's message composer is separate from its shared timeline; sending adds it to that conversation. Do not use the content area as a private scratchpad in a shared Journey.
